Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Distinguished Chair in Psychology within the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely acknowledged for launching the modern science of eyewitness memory in children as well as using children who have been abused to serve as witnesses in court. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded numerous awards and grants. She has worked with many organisations and governments all over the world to conduct research and policies relating to children who are victimized by the justice system. She is currently a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of a variety of professional organizations that include Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society, American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has served as president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division as well as three divisions of Children and Families Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
